The Patrolman's Benevolent Association

Over the years the Patrolman's Benevolent Association has helped, participated in, organized, sponsored or donated to clubs, groups, and individuals in our community. We believe in the youth of our community, the betterment of the community, neighborhoods and local businesses.

What We Do

TThe Newark P.B.A. Has always supported youth oriented activities. Over the years we have helped, sponsored or assisted with Police Athletic League, Cinderella Baseball League, Community Center, Cancer Society, and the Newark Jaycee's. More recently in the past several years we have sponsored or donated to Newark Gridiron club, Newark Tip-Off, N.Y.S. Miss Teen, Finger Lakes East Volleyball, St. Mark's Church and individuals and families in times of need due to a death or fire.

Our member's have participated in the Ontario County Sheriff's Benefit basketball games and we have had several members
participate & medal in the New York State Police Olympics.

As a fund raiser we have played softball games against the New York Giants football team, the Newark Fire Department "Guns & Hoses" tournament and every two years we do a mailing for donations.

In 2004 we started the "Cops for Tots" program. This has been very successful and has grown larger each year. This was started when an officer responded to a call; while there she saw children in need of clothes and toys. This officer went home and gathered some clothes, toys and food and along with donations from fellow officers was able to provide some gifts for this family that Christmas. Since then we have collected toys for families in our own community who need assistance each Christmas season.

In 2005, officers participated in "Hurricane Katrina Relief" in Louisiana. A collection was taken up through out Wayne County to assist with the relief. Several officers from across Wayne County participated in organizing this effort. With donations from the community & a Tractor Trailer truck donated by "Jamko"; 5 police officers in two police vehicles escorted a shipment of
supplies to Louisiana.
